Pinenut picking

We went pinenut picking the last weekend of September with Orrin and Georgia. It was kinda spur of the moment trip. We had good luck the little bit that we picked pinenuts. We mostly rode the rhino around. We went 60 miles and were filthy dirty by the end of the day. The roads were quite dusty. It was beautiful weather and a nice relaxing day. Macee and Parker were both great. As you can see, I just put Macee out on a blanket on the ground while we gathered pine nuts. Together we got gallon bucket full. The following weekend, Reece and Orrin went spike hunting and got another bucket of pinenuts, but no spike.

Ralph's birthday

These are a few pictures from Parker's birthday. My cute little boy is three already. I can't believe how fast time really flies. At least I have a replica of him in Macee. She looks so much like Parker it's kinda scary. He had a good birthday. He got farm stuff and a digger for his sand box. He was pretty excited to have everyone over to his house. He is so funny, now whenever it's someones birthday he always says its his birthday too. He keeps telling me what santa is going to bring him for his birthday. He doesn't quite get it yet. We sure love him. I don't know what we did without him. We are constantly laughing at the things he says. A week or so before his birthday he started wanting to wear big boy pants, so he started going potty. He still has a few accidents but does pretty well overall.

Better late than never

Better late than never. These are a few pictures from Labor Day. Every year we go up on Cedar Mountain with all the Staheli's. We always have a lot of fun. Thanks for letting us stay in the cabin. Parker is always talking about Trav's cabin. Trav is his idol. Parker got to see a 'big buck' get skinned and hung up in a tree. He thought it was pretty cool. It was great weather and a lot of fun.

Colorado

This weekend we decided to go over to Colorado Springs and visit my grandma and grandpa Sorensen. We left Thursday night and spent the night in the pickup between Richfield and Grand Junction. 4 people in the back of the cab don't fit very well, we tried it. So, Macee and I sat in the front of the pickup while Parker and Reece slept in the back seat. The back of the pickup was so full that the carseats sat in the front with Macee and I so needless to say there wasn't much room in the front, and Macee wouldn't sleep unless I was holding her which means I didn't get much sleep. At 4 am I woke Reece up and we loaded the kids back in their seats and got back on the road. We went through Apen to get there which added about 2 hours to our trip. We finally pulled into my grandparents house around 4 p.m. 12 hours in one day with a 6 week old and a 3 year old. It wasn't horrible, but I wouldn't reccomend it. Macee doesn't like her carseat. We had a lot of fun and we're really glad we went to see them. Both nights we stayed up til 12:00 playing cards. We are on our way home now. We will stop this afternoon in Pagosa Springs and spend the night in our tent in a campground, and then we'll head the rest of the way home tomorrow.

My builder!!

This is my little builder. He's always building or fixing something. He is also always talking about work and what he does at work, but whenever I ask him if he has to go to work today, he always replies with "No not today, I have Fridays off." He constantly has us laughing. Life would be dull without him around!!

4th of July

I'm a little behind, but I should get caught up soon, since we finally have the internet at our house. For the 4th of July weekend, we went camping. We spent one night in Orrin and Georgia's trailer, and the next night we came home and slept at our house. Macee did great, but the second night Parker was having a rough time, so we just decided to come home and sleep in our own beds since we were only camping about 15 min from home. We had a lot of fun, as you can see in the pictures. Uncle Ben was helping the kids get in the tonka dump truck and riding it down the hill with Charlie the dog chasing them down. Parker and AJ were filthy dirty. They were throwing dirt on each other and laughing their heads off. Macee just hung out in the trailer sleeping the days away. On the 4th we came back into town and had a BBQ with my family and then let Parker run in the kids races at the church. He ran fast and won. He was pretty excited about his dollar, he wanted to by an icee with it. I didn't get pictures of the best part however. We talked grandpa Bill into running in the 18 and up race, and he tripped over his own feet right at the beginning. Then we talked him into doing the piggyback race with Parker. He grabbed Parker off the grass and closelined him on the rope, but grandpa didn't even know Parker was crying. Then he raced and was going so fast they went head over teakettle at the finish line and Parker was crying even more. It was super funny and gave everyone a good laugh for the day. Grandpa Bill is a good sport. To finish the races off, Reece and Grandpa Bill did the wheel barrow race and almost won. To finish the night, we had grandma and grandpa Staheli over and lit fireworks. Parker thought they were too loud, but still liked them.

Macee Kay

The big day finally came. I was induced on Monday. We waited and waited, they said they'd call first thing Monday morning. I was second on the list, but the call didn't come until 11:30 a.m. It was a really easy but long labor. We got there at 11:30 a.m. and I delivered at 9:50 p.m. It seemed to last forever since Parkers was only about 5 hours. It was a breeze for me, but Reece was bored out of his mind sitting there all day long. She weighed 8.2 oz and 20.5 inches long with a head full of brown hair, lots more than Parker had. We are all doing great. I don't even feel like I had a baby. So far she's a really good baby and Parker loves her to death. He loves 'petting her' kissing her all over, and holding her hand. He's been great!!
